Live in a long economic crisis causes by Israel’s blockade isn’t an easy thing for Palestinians, especially for those who live in Gaza Stripe. The high price, limited sources of daily needs, and the difficulty in distribution are the reality they have to face. This condition encourages NPC to help the Palestinians with Economy program “Free Market”.
World Bank has stated that Palestine has been through a severe economic crisis as a result of the tax-cutting that is carried out by Israel. Gaza has experienced 6% decrease in economic growth in the first quarter of 2018. Since then, it is indicated that there will be more of economic recession.
According to Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the number of unemployment in Gaza is increasing every year. In 2018, the unemployment percentage reached to 52% from the total population of approximately 2 million people. The number increases 8% than the previous year.
The condition worsen as the daily necessities is not comparable with the people’s income. This is caused by the limited jobs there.
